Store inspection
A store inspection that doesn't vanish into a folder
The walk-round itself takes half an hour. The real work comes afterwards: typing it all up, sending it on, and remembering what still needed doing.
What is a store inspection?
In a store inspection you walk through the shop with a fixed list: the shelves, the chillers, the till, hygiene and safety. For each point you record whether it is in order. An area manager does this in every store in their region, a store manager does it every week, and head office wants an overview of it all.
On paper, the walk-round still works. But the form ends up in a folder, the photos sit on someone's phone, and whatever wasn't in order has to be remembered and passed on. Three months later nobody knows whether the fridge was ever repaired.
How a digital store inspection works
- Choose the store and the checklist. Each store gets the list that belongs to it. You start on your phone or tablet, in the browser, without installing an app.
- Tap an answer for each question. OK, attention or not OK. For a measurement you enter the number, such as the fridge temperature, and Stipt checks for itself whether it is within the limit.
- Take a photo of anything that is wrong. The photo belongs to the question, not to a separate email. Whoever opens the report sees straight away what it is about.
- Finish. The score is calculated, and every point that wasn't in order becomes an action item with a deadline and an owner.
What you gain
- No more evenings typing it all into Excel: the report is ready the moment you finish.
- Every store is inspected the same way, with the same questions and the same standards.
- You spot patterns: the same fault in three stores is no coincidence, and it stands out immediately.
- Whatever wasn't in order stays tracked until it is ticked off, with a photo as proof.
- From the Pro plan, it also works without signal, in the cellar or the stockroom.
What belongs on a good checklist?
A good checklist is short enough to actually get done and concrete enough to leave no room for debate. "Store clean" is not a question; "floor and entrance clean" is. Give the most important points more weight, and mark what must always be in order as critical: an out-of-date product or a fridge that is too warm turns the whole inspection red, even if everything else is fine.

Frequently asked
How often should you do a store inspection?
It depends on what you are checking. Many stores do a short walk-round every day or week and a full inspection every month. In Stipt you set how often each checklist is due, and you get a reminder when a store is overdue.
Who carries out the store inspection?
Usually the store manager, a branch manager or an area manager who visits several stores. In Stipt you give each team member a role and the stores that person belongs to.
Can I use my existing paper list?
Yes. Paste your list as text and every line becomes a question. Or send us a photo or scan and we will convert it for you.
